Moumita Hore received her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and minors in Computer Science and Psychology from University at Buffalo in 2020. Moumita was admitted to the Neuroscience Graduate Program at Michigan State University in 2021 and joined the laboratories of Dr. Caryl E. Sortwell and Dr. Scott E. Counts in 2022. By combining a transgenic rat model of Alzheimer’s Disease with the alpha-synuclein preformed fibril model of Parkinson’s Disease, her research focuses on developing a novel model for the neuroinflammatory response associated with Lewy Body Dementia. Outside of the lab, Moumita enjoys art, photography, learning about different cultures and spending quality time with friends and family.
