Allyson Cole-Strauss began her career at Michigan State University in 2010, relocating from the University of Cincinnati. Ms. Cole-Strauss has a B.A. in Biology from the University of Missouri and an M.S. in Microbiology from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Ms. Cole-Strauss has been the laboratory manager for Dr. Jack Lipton since 2008. Her expertise lies in the areas of protein purification, biochemical characterization of proteins, analytical biochemistry, assay development, cell culture, and gene expression. Her skill set includes a wide array of molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, western blot, ELISA, cell culture and immunoprecipitation. Ms. Cole-Strauss also administers and manages the shared equipment process for Translational Neuroscience. When she isn’t in the lab she enjoys gardening, cooking, and traveling.
